Yeah I went out with a 3-4 full suit on, along with five mil gloves, booties and a hood. It was on Christmas day in the late afternoon and the air temp was in the lower forties to upper thirties the water was much warmer then that. I was very warm even after getting wet and riding for over half an hour. Only my nose and face were even the littlest bit cold so.

Well the new starter worked for two rides now its back to its same old ways, cranks fine till I stop cranking then it cranks REALLY slow, hot or cold now. Like I said I push the button for the first time cranks great, don't let off it will start fine, let off then it cranks slow and won't start. I made a video of the slow cranks and put it on my youtube. The link is below. New battery, brand new starter, selonoid, cables, ran two grounds to the starter to be sure and still does not work. I have worked on many engines but this has me stumped.

Have you greased the shaft bearing? Those are notorious for giving resistance. The grease fitting about six inches behind the coupler.

I greased it in August when I got the ski, I'll try greasing it again too though, whatever it is I am really starting to think that it is not a starter issue but resistance like you said.

You could pull the coupler and see if you can feel resistance in the drive shaft when turning it by hand. That bearing might be shot.

Before greasing it I pulled the coupler off completely and it has cranked right for two times, each on a separate day so I narrowed the problem down to the jet pump and shaft area not the engine. The bearing did not feel bad when I pulled it off but I have had some before that felt fine and have turned out to be bad anyway. Unfortunately for me the jet pump is the area I have no experience in, engines is what I really know. I guess its always a good time to learn though. If greasing the bearing does not work then I guess I will pull the jet pump and rebuild and upgrade it this winter. Thanks you 98yota for all the help, you have been great.

Hey no problem, I'm glad to help. Luckily there is still a good amount of parts for these skis. The other day I even saw a complete jet assembly for less than $80 on eBay.
