Default waverunner 500 cranks too slow

I have a great running waverunner 500, new battery, connections good. Sometimes it cranks fine and when it does it fires right up. Other times it cranks way too slow to start. If I pull the plugs it also cranks fine. Any ideas, starter, impeller need oil/grease?
Thanks,
Cole

If the connections are good and clean and it has a new battery, most likely the starter is just on its last legs. When does it have trouble cranking? After a long hard ride or after it's been sitting for a couple days and cold?

It only does it when it is hot, never cold, I have installed a new starter that seems to have solved the problem, but its really to cold to ride now but I think that was the issue.
Thanks,
Cole

There is not really a whole lot more than go wrong with starting system on these so you should be good to go. Now the only problem you have is the anticipation of waiting for the next season! Hope you have a good Christmas and Newyears!

A wet suit isn't an option for me, I my skis wouldn't handle very good in the ice. I'm keeping myself occupied by building a 1980 Arctic Cat Panther 440 this year. I have the sled ready to ride but there is no snow...

Sounds like a cool project, I have always wanted a snow machine but in Slower Lower Delaware we do not really get that much snow. Every winter I restore a vehicle of some kind, this winter I am taking a 1974 Honda cb 360 and turning it into a dual sport custom bike. Good luck with your Arctic Cat.

Those are cool bikes! I built a CB700 about ten years ago, it was either a 74 or 75. Those 700s are pretty torquey motors! The Old Cat is pretty much done, I just needs some snow. If you want to check it out, I posted the build (at least so far) on "snowmobileforum" the thread is called "1981 Arctic Cat Panther Project."

Did you ever throw your wet suit on and ride yet? I think I'm going to tear into my Jammer 500 (the 1 seat version of your ski) pretty soon. I started a thread about a week ago, because I'm getting tired of waiting for snow so I'm going to start pulling it apart maybe next week. I think I'll redo the carb and the pump.
