Default Please help.....Kawasaki 650sx

Need to replace the mat on my recently purchased 650sx and would also like to replace the vynl covered side rails while I am at it. Would like to hydroturf the rails as well. If I do this, will I have to cut the turf to fit the rails or can they be purchased already cut??? Sure would appreciate any suggestions. I am not a fan of the vynl covered rails. Pretty sure I have seen other 650s with the turfed rails..... Haven't I?

I recently did this on one of my 650sx's. If you want to replace both then i would say to take the mat off, and whatever is already covering the side walls. What I did was rip the mat off in as big of pieces as I could and then took a wire brush tip and my drill sanded down all the way to bare fiberglass. It sounds cheap but I actually bought a yoga mat since its cheaper than turf, cut it to size and glued it down. It actually turned out really well. Does your 650 still have the fiberglass molded sidewall pieces? If so I would pay someone to recover them. I tried myself and they ended up looking like crap. I took them to a local vinyl shop and for $200 he recovered every vinyl piece from the ski; he also told me that he has been doing this for 20 years and those are some of the hardest pieces he has ever had to cover. My other 650 just has a turf sheet - diamond cut glued to the ski itself, that will end up looking great also

I know that Hydro turf has kits and sheets the mat material. They seem to have a lot of choices but if they don't include the rails I would just cut and fit one of their sheets of material. Should look great!
