Default cylinder/rebuild top end question

Ive got a js440. its a 79 model and it runs great. but its just not very fast. the guy i bought it from gave me a 550 cylinder and head and said that if i wanted i could bolt it on.

My question is: "Are the cylinders on the old Kawasaki js's boreable or do you have to go through the trouble of buying sleeves and putting them in and all that jazz? What would i have to do to make the 550 cylinder ready to put in?
