Hello, recently bought a standup. It started fine when I purchased it. Got home and thought just the battery was dead. Replaced the battery, nothing. Replaced the solenoid, ($85), nothing. It just "clicks-pops" when I hit the start button. The next step is to get into the starter I guess? Can anyone offer any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate the help.

if its clicking the electrical box is good.. the first thing i would check is if you have the battery terminals screwed on tight to the battery(you cannot simply touch them to the battery, you need to screw them in tight) and rest of places it connects. next make sure battery has charge. after all that.. take out starter and check it. on battery. if it spins freely then you have engine problem.

I know I am a complete rookie here. Can I get a quick tutorial on how to get to the starter? Does the exhaust need removed?
