Default gas Tank???

Hey i have a 1984 JS550 and was removing the gas tank when my finger punched through it. Anyway, are the gas tank interchangable between years of js550s? Between other models? Also, the ski leaks from somewhere, i think it could be the driveshaft seals. Are these easy to change? Sorta a noob with skis so any help is greatly apprectiated. Thanks

The tanks are interchangeable aside from that some are just a hair smaller(height). Place the ski in the water and see where the water is coming in from.If it is behind the bearing housing, you can just reseal it easily. Just remember where the shims came from if there are any.

yeah, cantgetitright is right...lol

the gas tank fron any 440 or 550 ought to fit. How did you punch a hole in it with your finger? My tanks seem to be pretty tough, definitely tougher than a finger..
