Default 90 550 kawi sx rebuild

Ok so to start off im not new to jet skis but I am new to a top end rebuild on these. Plus its a project from somebody else. Its completly taken. Apart. Head off cylenders off exhaust and intake manifold off. Pipe off. So basicly I have the block withe the rods and pistons sticking out of it. What I need to know is if I replace the rings should I do pistons also and being somebody elses project I took over what should I check b4 I go any further? Thanks Tyler

There should be a number on the top of the piston. .25 .5 .75 1.0 I would do pistons since it's already apart. Get a micrometer if there aren't any numbers on the pistons. I forget what stock is though, but if its never been done, I would go .5 over just to clean it up and make it all seals good. You could go .25 over, and if the walls are warped at all that should take care of it, but .5 will for sure

Or you could just put stock everything back in it and call it good, but it might not be. You could end up with not a very good compression
