Default FX140 Cooling Hose Replacement

What would be a good choice for replacing 9 year old cooling hoses? Not sure if the expense of buying new hoses from Yamaha is really necessary.
How about regular automotive heater hose? Also thought about automotive fuel hose as it seems to have more braiding than heater hose. What should I use?

Thank you.

No need to replace them unless your ski is one of the ones under the "Code 90" recall that Yamaha had (I think it only applied to the FX HO skis). You can call a dealer to find out, and if your ski is on the list the dealership will do it free.

Thanks Ernest. The hoses are still fairly pliable. Was'nt sure what their lifespan was so I thought about changing them as a precaution. Seem to read a number of bad luck stories with water hose or clamp failures. My ski is an '02 so you really think I'm still o.k? Read where some recommend to change them out every few years but if not necessary it will save me some work.

Thanks again.

There were certain model year skis that had the hose and clamp problems. I know that my 08 was one of them, because the dealer changed out the hoses and clamps as part of the recall. I think the years included were 06-08, but not absolutely sure. That is where all the bad reports came from, because the hoses or clamps would fail and fill the ski with water. The other years apparently didn't have the bad hoses or clamps, and I've not heard of a ski affected by that particular problem that wasn't in the recall group.
