Thumbs down 1996 Yamaha Waveraider problems

I took my ski out for the day and it ran perfectly the whole time I was out. When I got home and attached the ski to the hose to flush the engine, it ran fine for a while and then started to idle erratically. I then turned the throttle and it died on me. I started it up again and again when turning the throttle it looses all power and stalls. I have just bought this ski and I have no idea about what could be wrong? I have checked the fuel filter and there appears to me a bit of dirt in it (only a little) Would this cause the problems or something else?? Any suggestions??

It probably is dirty in yours carburetor... disassembly it and clean it out... you could also do a rebuilt on the carburetor if you see the membranes worn out.
Spark plugs sometimes just dies ... it could be one spark plug.. you may be able to check it easy with a ohmmeter, i dont now by heart the ohm it should be but you can check against the other and see if one of them is too high.
Another possibility is spark cables... and the last, the coil.... but do not scare, its pretty much "sure" to be dirty in the carbs or spark plugs...
