Default Lower-end check

I have my 99 GP760 that I am rebuilding. I'm doing a top end rebuild, but I've been trying to find help on inspecting the bottom end. I can't find any clear guidance on how to check the connecting rods. THe crank rolls nice in the case, and there's no visual signs of over heating. But what about play in the connecting rod on the journals?? Everything I find online only references checking for no play up and down (which I have no noticable play in mine). But I can twist the connecting rod on the journal and get a small amount of play this way, just is this normal, or does this indicate wear?? Other than this play, everything looks good and rolls smooth. Some advice.. Please!!

Hi... Look... when you have roller bearing on the connect rod if you twist you will feel a little bit of play.... its not exactly play, its a little bit of movement from the bearing rollers ....you should not feel play if you push and pull the rod up and down while keeping the crankshaft stop. Actually if your reason to rebuild is other than hydrolocko seized engine, probably you should not have any problem on the connect rod/bearings... they are hard to need to change if the engine was not : rusted/ seized/hydrolocked/ too much contaminants inside crankcase.

You could find the service manual to buy online and have all specification to check, but you wold need the tools like micrometer and also you should need to disassemble the crankshaft but pressure and reassemble and balance.. you could only sent to some shop to do the work.
