Angry yamaha waverunner suv 1200 no forward or reverse and overheating

My Yamaha 2000 yamaha suv stopped and would move forward or reverse and then began to overheat! I checked the cables and they seemed fine but no water from the piser or rooster and can not get it to move forward or reverse. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Tim

Sounds like you've stripped the drive shaft. You will need to pull the shaft and check the splines.

This is the short and the long of it, it appears the salt water has done a number of my jet drive so I am still waiting for parts. To date I've replaced the shaft, couplor, housing bearing drivie, impellar and housing , flange coupling and several other parts. Thanks Ernest you were on the right track.
