Default is it worth it!

i have found 2 1997 yamaha wave ventures 1100 on a double trailer for 1000.00.

one is blowedup but the owner has bought a new block, but engine is out and tore down.

the other one ran last summer but will not turn over now

they come with a double trailer

do you guys think this is worth buying for a winter project?

I wouldn't pay more than the value of the trailer. Not a bad deal if you are looking for a project, but expect to be dishing out lots more $$$ to get one running.

If you are mechanically inclined and have time I'd go for it. Fix them and flip them in May for a profit $$$ if you won't want them.

ok i have the 2 skis and trailer in the garge now and have checked both of them out.im going to put my new camera to work on these 2 projects and record the process of rebuilding both skis or maybe just the first one i do.
2 yamaha wave venture 1100s
the skis are in pretty good shape ass far as the hulls go,but both engines threw rods so i have a very good project to work on during the snow months.

ski #1 needs rebuilt crank, new cylinder and pistons, and gasket kit
ski#2 needs rebuilt crank, new cylinders and pistons ,and gaskets kit,and maybee the lower case havent seen under the crank yet but from what i could see it looked ok.i will not know for sure till i get the engine out.we will say it probly needs a new case.

i figure i will be putting around 1000.00 in each ski and have a total around 1300.00-1500.00 in each by the time im done.

as soon as im done typing this post i am going to grab my new camera and post a video of the skis that we will be working on together.

what do you guys think?
thanks for reading from killer454

ps i dont see in the manual on these skis that they have no trim whats with that, they do have reverse though.can anybody tell me why no trim?
