Default Need help removing stuck jet housing components

Hi all! I'm glad I found this forum. I have a 1989 Waverunner that requires a new impeller. This craft was used primarily in fresh water, but did see a year or so in brackish water. My problem is separating the housing components: nozzule, duct, and housing (see parts 10,11,19 in attached schematic). The bolts came out ok, but the parts seem to be welded together. I'm afraid to put much pressure on them for fear of breaking the fragile aluminum. They have been soaked in kroil, penetrating oil, etc., but no luck. Does anyone here have knowledge of other methods that may work? I'm thinking of trying heat shock with a propane torch, but didn't want to proceed without some expert opinion. My mechanical experience is primarily with autos, cycles, and valves. PWC are new to me.

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Don't know about that specific model, but on other skis a slide hammer and wooden wedges to tap between the parts usually helps.

Hi bob...
do no use propane torch... you can use air heater gun..... use the heater gun around the touching surfaces and then submerse only the part that fits INSIDE in a bucket of water and then hit with a rubber hammer always pushing forwarding... BE CAREFUL to do not hit little squares blocks that are outside that they may broke.
Heating with heater gun may help, but probably just using the rubber hammer the right way will free the parts...you need to hit always in a angle to push out the other part.. do not try a big hit to free at once... try a lot of small hist to loosen it
