Default Bogging out.......

I could use some serious opinions!! I have a 2001 xlt1200. As of last summer it has been bogging out and running like crap. I did the carbs over and it ran great for maybe two weeks. It still boggs out after a half hour on the water. My new problem is pressure in the tank is not releasing. Also gas is getting into the exhaust and causing some serious backfiring. COULD REALLY USE SOME HELP..........Thanks.

The backfiring problem is often related to a bad cylinder or no spark to a cylinder. Pull the plugs and look for the wet one. Confirm you have spark on all.

have you tested the compression ?, check you reed valve too ... if compression around 150 on both and reed valves ok.. check coil wiring leaking between both and also all exhaust lines if are clogged( waterlock), if too much clogged, you can clean with gasoline and shake it, will leave it very clean.
Let us know what it was ..
