Just has the motor completly reworked. Now the ski will only run at idle or half throttle. Ski bogs downs and dies at full throttle. I changed the fuel filter but that did not fix it. any suggestions. the carbs and fuel pump screens where also changed when the motor was out.

Top end rebuild kit for that ski runs around $500 (even less if the cylinders are un damaged), and it's not a hard job to do yourself. You can find a good running used XL800 for $1800. I'd definitely pass on the $1800 deal.

You should do a carb. Rebuild at the same time ($50 per carb).
