Default Yamaha year end promo - good deal ?

Hi all, I joined this forum hoping to find a good used 4 stroke Waverunner. Most used ones i see on C/L and ebay cost $5000+. Then i found out Yamaha is offering bnew VX Deluxe models for less than $10K with 4.9% financing (3 years). This is my first PWC so i dont know this is just a gimmick or does Yamaha do this often? 4.9% really is not that great - considering my house mortgage is @ 3.25%. Should i grab the opportunity ? Do they do the same promo's come spring ?

I really like the new 4 cylinder 4 strokes. After reading a lot here - i really do want the reliability of Yamaha 4 strokes.

The VX Deluxe is a great choice for a first ski-- very dependable. It will also hold its resale value well if you decide to "trade up" later.

The 4.9% deal is a good one. You can verify by calling your bank lending department and asking them their rate on a new waverunner-- if its lower, go with them.

Be sure to shop around for the best deal--- for example, my dealer ( in Ohio) has new "leftover" '11 VX Deluxes on their website for $7499 and '12s for $8599. Plus whatever trailer you want. If you live outside Ohio, theres no sales tax-- you pay whatever tax rate your home state charges when you title it there. When i bought my 2 waverunners from them last year, it was no hassle-- the internet price plus sales tax plus the trailer i chose. Did the deal on the phone, gave them my visa for a deposit and went and picked them up on Saturday.

Good luck

Don't know if its a good deal, compared to what your bank may offer, but yea they do the financing option every year along with the $500 worth of free accessories. Its their standard winter promo. Just be sure to plan to pay it off in the 36 months, because I've heard that the rates really skyrocket after that. Other option may be to do a home equity loan to buy the ski.........if that is an option for you it would definitely be at a better rate.

If you are looking to buy new, look for left over skis from last year. The VX hasn't changed other than colors and graphics, so a 2010, 2011, and 2012 are all the same ski.

Yamaha is offering 3.9% APR now - so i guess the year end deal was a gimmick.
