Default 93 vxr pro, meter assy. - interchange?

NEW MEMBER, need help.

Just acquired a 93 vxr pro 701. Digital display meter is bad. Found on on ebay from a 95 model. My original part # is GD0-6820A-00-00. Meter on ebay is part # GJ1-6820A-00-00. Will these interchange?

Also, coming from the existing meter is a rubber hose with a strange looking plastic fitting in the other end. What is this hose for, is it supposed to be attached anywhere? It is currently hooked to meter on one end, and the other end with plastic fitting is just ty-wrapped to something in the engine compartment, not attached to anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please don't laugh. I am very mechanically inclined, just don't have any experince with PWC's.
THANKS!

According to the BoatsNet cross reference it wouldn't work. You may have a hard time finding one for a 93. If you can buy with a return policy, it might be worth trying the 95. May be possible to mod. it to work if you could find a wiring diagram.

The hose is probably a condensation vent that came on some of the older model displays. It wasn't hooked to anything. It helped keep the display from fogging.

Might contact your local dealership or ski mechanic and run it by them, they might have a couple tricks up their sleeves. They can't charge you for advise after all!
