Default Planning to buy Yamaha VXS

We are very close to buying a new 2011 Yamaha VXS. We need a reliable PWC after suffering thru many repairs/breakdowns on our SeaDoo GTI LE. If anyone has any negatives about the VXS, please let me know. I don't want to buy another PWC that is plagued with problems.
Thanks.
Sandy

The VXS/VXR is a new ski for 2011, so there hasn't been a whole lot of time to hear of many complaints or problems, but if you look at the components that make up the ski you see a history of reliability: The engine was designed from the ground up as a marine watercraft engine and has been around since 2008. I have read of absolutely no complaints with the normally aspirated version of the engine on the VXS.

The hull design on the VXS has been around since 2005, since it is the same as the VX. The difference is that they use the NanoXcel material on the VXS, which is lighter. This hull will give you a "sporty" ride = bouncy and wet in rough water. Should be very similar to the GTI ride.

The only problem that I have seen reported has to do with water leakage around the ride plate or through the siphon system primarily when the ski is in reverse. There seem to be simple fixes. Check out this thread: VXR taking on water

Good luck on your new purchase!
