a freind of mine found a 2001 gp1200r that the owner blewup 2 sommers ago.it has been sitting outside under a cover since then.he does not have it addvertised for sale so its not going no where soon.
the owner put a jump box on it and engine will not turn over.
as you all know im rebuilding 2 wave venture 1100s right now but after im done with these 2 thinking about buying this gp1200r for rebuild.
he says he will take 1000.00 for ski and cover
has a little dock rash above the rails,and it is all together he did not mess with it.

do you guys think it would be worth buying?

$1000 is way too high for a ski that you know without a doubt is going to need a new motor, or at least many new parts (if its been sitting that long the crank is gone as well as everything else in there). Its only worth the value of the hull plus a little more for the electrics (and there is no guarantee that the electrics work, and don't be surprised if the pump is rusted together), etc.. I'd offer $500-600

Man you are going to have your own used ski business before long if you keep collecting.

yes ernest t i do agree i was thinking 600 and if he says no then i will walk away from it.

yes i know what you mean about the used ski parking lot,right now i have 1-polaris slx1200,kawasaki 750 ss/xi,2 wave ventures and im still looking for more to buy.
i guess i have been bit by the pwc bug pretty good lol

Yea I think some guys have unrealistic ideas about what their skis are worth. I've got a guy that lives in my neighborhood that has a FX HO with an engine that was killed with water ingestion. He wants $3500 for it. I've tried to explain to him that putting a new engine in, even with me doing all the work would cost another $3000, and I can find a good used same model ski in better condition for less than that plus the trailer. Its been sitting now for 8 months with no buyers, but he won't budge on the price............yet.
