The head looks OK as far as I can tell, but the photo is a little blurry.

Could have been caused by air leak makinig it run lean, either from carb or around head.

Not sure what you are refering to as to carb hook up.

The sleeves are press fit. You either have to take it to a shop and let them do it.........or, If you are the advertureous type, you can try and do it yourself. To do it yourself you need to pull everything off the top end and put the whole thing in an oven at around 400 degrees for 45 - 60 minutes. The sleeves will often drop out then, or come out fairly easily with a few taps on a wood block. Reverse the process to put the new sleeve back in, and be sure to align the ports.

Thanks.

The ports look a little misaligned.. Especially on #3.

I think Im going to go ahead and get a top end exchange kit from SBT.
It comes with a new cylinder ready to go.

$700 bucks though...

It will save me a lot of time though. Especially since they are right in FL were I am.
Plus they are willing to ship it out first before I send them my core which is great.

Should have everything by Monday.

Does every 1200 has 64x rods?
Could this be an 1100 engine???

Or they dont use 65u pistons?

Just want to make sure I order the right stuff.

Not an uncommon finding.

According to the cross reference they used the 64x rods on the 1999 gp1200, but no other gps

Or they dont use 65u pistons?

Awsome info! So I have a 1999 gp1200 engine.

Thanks a bunch.

also, is there anyway I can flush the crankcase without removing the engine?

Is it normal to have some oil in it? There is a puddle of oil on the bottom of the crank case..

Thanks
