1) Remove drain plugs at back of hull.

2) Remove spark plugs and crank engine (water should shoot out cylinder holes.)

However if the engine took in water and sat like that for 7 months you can surely bet on needing a new motor.

I believe i may be in luck!

1) hooked up battery. the dash works!
2) took out spark plugs, the motor cranks!!! had some water. maybe 1/2 cup?
3) all 3 cylinders seem too me moving and air is coming out of all 3.
4) i have a spark on the cords also!!

im hoping that i will be able to dry it and start it!
Is there anything else i should check or look for before i do?

Also if the engine cranks and no visible rust, does this mean i might be able to save the engine?? Thank you!!!

If it's cranking that IS a good sign. When you cranked it over did any water shoot out of the spark plug holes? If no water is coming out put the spark plugs back in and try firing it up.

if it was me in this situation i would put a little bit of 2-stroke oil down in each cylinder and crank the engine a few times with the plugs out.
i would then hook my compression gauge up to it and see what it read on each cylinder.
if it read ok on compression-i would drain all the fuel out of the tank and then i would refill with a couple gallons of gas mixed at 32-1 to be safe.running this gas at 32-1 would give extra oil for the lower end of the crankcase.while running mixed gas make sure your oil pump injection lines are feeding oil to the carbs.
do not run the engine more than 15 seconds at a time, must be completly cool before starting again.
i would also locate all greas fittings on the drive bearing and give them a few good squirts of grease.

this is what i would do

Guys, thank you so much for the replies. So after i cranked out all the water, about 1/2 cup total. maybe less. but it was super oily water, and smelled like gas? also by putting my hand over the cylinders i noticed that the first one from the front has a lower compression then the other two. so i will put a bit of the 2 cycle oil in the cylinders. then crank it out. then put in new plugs and try to start?

Yes, do what Killer said. I personally would check the compression with a good gauge first because it might still run with one cylinder shot.

If you cranked out 1/2 cup of water I would bet on your motor needing a new top end perhaps full rebuild. Compression check and if within spec run the heck out of it to dry out the motor.

I would use fogging oil in the cylinders before trying to start it. It will lubricate while trying to start. Obviously drain and replace the fuel and oil. Good luck!

Great News!!! The Bad boy started on the Second try!! Ran it 2 times at about 10 seconds each time. However there was some white smoke kinda rising around the engine. not alot but some.... Maybe its just water/oil/protective spray drying off and steaming? or can it be something else?? Also the first cylinder has less air shooting out, when cranking with no plug so im sure there is less compression in that one. What would you do now? run it under a hose?

Only way to accurately check compression is with a screw in type gauge. I suggest you do that first to get a reading on engine health.
