Default xlt1200ltd problem need input

only was doing 6000 rmps and going about 40 mph. went throught carbs, still nothing. finally found the problem. decided to pull the fuel line going into the carbs and ran it directly into a gas can sitting on my lap. ran 59 on speedo at about 7000 rpms. so does this mean the fuel lines are plugged up or the tank has crap in it? bad breather? i already had syfined all the old fuel out and put new stuff in and changed the fuel filter but it didnt run good until i bypassed the fuel tank and fuel lines up to the filter. ideas of how to go about this?

could be your fuel valve is gummed up or leaking air into the system, of i have seen a few people mistake the fuel filters and put the one with the smaller inlet and outlet on them. they correct filter has black on the one face of it, and larger diameter nipples for the fuel line.

Try drawing fuel via the reserve line and see if that helps.
