Look on Ebay for deals... but you will have to travel to get it. Shipping is too much.

Really depends on what part of the country you are in. Best deals I've seen on a Deluxe were around $1000 less than your deal, but those prices were back in the winter not in the middle of the season when prices are always higher. I'd say that deal is not bad. You would have to wait to the end of the season to see a significant improvement. You might also ask around local dealerships to see if there are any left over skis (the VX hasn't changed since 2010), and you can often get hundreds off by buying last years model.......it will have the same warranty, etc..

goldstalker...where do you live? I just purchased 2 new 2012 FX SHOs...with double trailer and want to modify/upgrade my trailer. I live in the Houston, Tx area. Did the tool box come with the trailer or did you mount it yourself?

I live in Cali. I installed the box myself took all of 10min just some self taping screws in the frame. I had the dealer pay for and order it. This is the one I went with...

Wow! I thought I paid too much for mine... I bought my VX new, was still in the crate, but it was a 08 model year, and I bought it in late 2010, they assembled it and put it on a new shorelander trailer, and I was out the door for about $7600

Wow, Yamaha redid the VX in 2010 so not only did you get a 2 year old ski but you got an outdated model. Now that is over paying.

He got a great deal-- saving more than 20% by buying a leftover one is a very smart move--- the changes between the older and newer VXs aren't worth paying that much more to get the newer one----and he's in a great position financially with that deal if he ever decides to trade it in on a bigger one----

In fact, looking at NADAguides today, a 2010 VX Deluxe has a value of $6040 and an 08 VX Deluxe is worth $4900---(ski only-- no trailer with either) ----the market is only putting an $1100 "premium" for both the changes on the '10 model and the fact its 2 years newer......
