Default Best anchor for a vx deluxe?

Hey - am new. Have a 2012 vx deluxe. Am interested in what you recommend for an anchor that will hold well.

Am using it on an freshwater lake with a bunch of islands. Plan on stopping at a them and don't want to beach my shiny new toy and scratch up the bottom. Have seen a few online from different vendors, but most have so so reviews.

Thanks for your advice.

I use the soft style anchor that yamaha has, like 30 bucks, just fill some rocks in there from shore and your good to go!

Default Welcome!

Welcome! I am a VX Deluxe owner as well, we bought a 2011 VX deluxe and we liked it so much we bought a 2012 this year so we had two. We have the anchor below, its essentially a small danforth and works really well. We did not buy it through Yamaha we got it from another dealer but its identical. We usually anchor out around our area and it is typically sand where we are so this anchor works really nice and really holds well even if there are waves coming in close to shore.

I have a 2012 Yamaha HO and anchor right off beach in inlets. The tide is very strong. I used the first anchor here and it bent! I now use the second one and works greats. Anything smaller do not hold the ski in the strong current. A little heavy to carry around though.

Mine looks like the second one and it works great, the first one looks flimsy.

For the last 8 years, I have been using a 10 lb. mushroom anchor. It's rubberized all around and easy to store in the front compartment. I just wrap it tight with towels or a spare life jacket to keep it bouncing when going through heavy chop. Its very easy to plop in the water and it holds my VX from moving. In a lake, it won't budge,... at the ocean with tides, current and waves you have to use a longer rope(15ft) to keep the anchor from getting tugged along the bottom.
