Default 1999 XL 1200 Limited not starting

Hey everyone,

New to the forum, and I'm now bald pulling my hair out. I'm trying to start a 1999 XL 1200 Limited after it has sat since 2008, so 4 1/2 years. (see where I'm going with this) To start it all off, I think I made the rookie mistake of drizzling too much pre-mix oil down each cylinder before initial cranking, thinking I was preventing induced engine wear thinking the cylinders were dry. So now as I try and start it, I can't get any kind of combustion. The only thing I can get is a brief sputter when I drop a little gas into each cylinder. After each attempt, I pull the plugs and they are sopping with oil. (see picture below) I've run the starter with the plugs out several times for like 20-30 sec to try and pump out all the oil. The oil comes out nice and blue so i know it's fresh. Can it be that the injector pump is putting too much oil in and it's over saturating the fuel? I've also drained the old gas out completely and have fresh gas in the tank. The spark plugs still look in great shape and I checked the spark on each one and all three give good spark after I clean off all the oil. I don't know what else to do and am at the mercy of the experienced.

Thanks Everyone

Here is a picture of what my plug looks like after all my attempts at starting. Keep in mind this is also after several attempts of clearing the cylinders

For the engine to run you need:
1. Spark
2. Fuel
3. Compression

It always comes down to a failure of one of these 3. Since you have already verified spark, I'd recommend checking the compression next. It should be around 120 psi per cylinder. If the compression checks out the problem is most likely fuel flow..........I'd be highly suspicious of gummed up carbs with the ski sitting that long. You may be in for carb cleaning or rebuilding X 3.
