Default Suggestions, 06 FX Cruiser?

Hello Everyone, new to this forum, but would really appreciate your input on my potential purchase of this used Ski. Its a 2006 FX Cruiser. It has about 100 hrs on it, engine (per the mechanic he took it too) has always been serviced by him and winterized every year. THe body is good condition, no scrapes or scratches, underneath is clean! THe reverse cable is bent and had estimates of $350 in parts and 350 in labor to repair. One side of the ski, the decal was removed with a pressure washer, i am sure i can get it replaced. THE ski was sitting outside without a cover on it for the last 2 summers, there is some fading on the seats, and black plasic. The seats vinyl appear to be loose, but no tears. All in all it looks still pretty good. He is asking $4500 and i offered $3500 which verbally he accepted. So my question is: Great deal/GOOD deal or stay away? Any help would be appreciated. In reality it will cost me 4200 once i repair the reverse.
THANKS EVERYONE!

I'd say its a pretty good deal. The same ski in perfect shape would probably sell for $4500-5000. The dealer estimate for the reverse cable repair sounds pretty high. A new cable is around $150, and you could probably replace it yourself. I don't think I would pay more than $350 for the entire repair including a new cable.

The FX is pretty bullet proof. As long as the mechanic backs it, you should be OK without a test ride. Top speed of 53 mph, good on gas, very stable, easy to maintain, and reliable.

Good Luck!

Thanks Guys, I am picking it up tomorrow. We settled for 3400! I am planning on taking it out for a quick test ride. THanks again for your assistance.
