Default Waveblaster 2 carb problem

Hey guys. I just rebuilt the carbs on my waveblaster 2 760 and have a question. It takes about 20 seconds for it to crank with choke on. Then it cranks and runs fine every time I hit the button. If it sit a couple of hours, its choke time again. Can anyone HELP!

This is a pretty average occurrance with this gen yamaha and this engine in general. It's nothin to worry about i dont think, as long as it is running fine and sounds normal.

Thumbs up EFI is best

I have a 1999 Yamaha XL 1200 that I rebuilt. I have to choke it to get it started as well. When these units are warm, there is usually no problem starting them. I also have a 2003 Yamaha GP1300R that I rebuilt and a 2004 Kawasaki STX-12F; both of these unit have Electronoc Fuel Injection (EFI). The EFI's have no manual chokes and start up easily. I will never own a manually choked PWC or any other vehicle again. EFI is the way to go.
