I am experiencing a stalling problem. Without applying some throttle the unit stalls. The symptoms started as noticing some unburned fuel on the water along with a noticebale gas smell. Seemed to be running OK at idle at that time. Next new symptom was an occasional misfire or skip. Now won't run, it does start but needs some throttle to keep running, fuel in exhasut and gas smell still prevalent.

So first this is to change the plugs?
Do the coils on the plugs fail on these units?
Are the plugs easy to locate and remove? Where are they?
Anything else I should check or change?

First time doing self maintenance on the waverunner. I have a 21 ft boat, do most of my own maint. The WR is new to me. Any advice would be welcome!

Change the spark plugs first. Location is in the owners manual.

Thanks Ernest T. I changed the plugs. It helped, runs a bit better, not a total fix. It still runs rough at idle, unburned fuel in exhaust (sheen on water) and when applying throttle, it may run, it may stall...

It sure seems like one cylinder is not firing....

Pull the plugs, find the wet one, test the ignition coil, or change it out.
