07 Yamaha GP 1300R unexplained electrical shut down
I need help. I have a 07 GP 1300r which has an unexplained full electrical shutdown, but will immedialty fire back up with no issues. The machine has 50hrs on it and is totally stock. The only issue I have had in the past is a sporadical exhaust temperature sensor warning. I shut it down, and restart it and I don't get the warning. I have good return flow out the mid ports and so I know it is getting water. I suspect that this is electrical because when I turn it back on I don't have the warning and can continue all day with no heat issues.
The machine did the wierd full shut down once and I rode it for another few hours. Now it won't run 2 min without shutting down. When it shuts down it kills the entire electrical system which is different from a normal shutdown with the stop button, which leaves power to the dash for 60 seconds. It will immediatly fire up and run again. If i hold the display button it flashes 01 for a code which is no help, because it has had a full electronic shut down.
From reading on posts it is likely that my Cat converter is to blame. Will a failure of this sensor cause a complete electrical shutdown or do I have some other issue?
I appreciate anyones time. Thanks.
