Question How does this VXR PRO sound?

Hey guys I'm new to the forum and to PWCs. I do work on and own a lot of things with engine (atvs, minibikes, sleds, etc) but I am new to jet skis. I have a questions for everybody. Well first off I live in NY(location might matter later). Even though everyone i talk to thinks the VXR PROS are ugly there is something about them that i really like ha ha. anyways I have an opportunity to buy one, here are the details.

1994 VXR PRO
The guy is an older guy that bought this for his kids brand new(hes the only owner). He said his kids and now his grand kids just don't like being out on the water so he now wants to sell his toy. He said it has about 20 or less original hours on it, he took it out about 6-8 times total in 17 years. The last time it was registered was 2006 and he hasn't ran it in a little while. It comes with a brand new battery. I had a chance to look it over and let me tell you THIS THING IS MINT, you can eat off of the engine, It looks like it came off of the showroom floor, everything on it is original and in extremely good shape, it has a couple of nicks here and there and a couple spots where u can see the white on the fiberglass on the bottom back of the hull but i don't think that's a big deal. It comes with all the original paper work and everything that came with it new, it was always covered(it comes with a cover) and stored in a garage and properly winterized when it was put away last. it comes with a kind of homemade trailer that is in ok shape(with a little paint it would be nice).

So basically I think it just needs a quick once over and it will be good to go. It is basically a brand new jet ski and comes with the registration and everything. it also has the 701cc engine in it.

He is asking $1,500 or b/0 for everything.

Is this a good deal that I would be getting?

Let me know guys and if u have any comments on how this ski rides or anything let me know, and i know its not the fastest or anything but 40-45mph is as fast as i wanna go anyway, its just to put around the lake near my house.

Let me know asap guys.

Heres a link to it, its the 2nd one from the bottom!

Thumbs up

Not being a Yamaha guy can only give you general advice. If you are buying this more or less as a toy to use in upstate N.Y. More than likely it is an ok deal. Not much to lose. You may have to replace oil lines and other plastics. Start it and sea trial it first. Just because your gettin it cheap dosen't make new parts any cheaper. The good news is it was well maintained and used in fresh water where the seasons are shorter

I'm a sucker for time capsule old machines. These 701 Yamahas are bulletproof and run forever. That trailer is junk though, I would not trust it going down the road. Otherwise Go for it!

Ok new single place trailers are about $700.00 so split it and try and get it for $1,100.-$1,200.

Hey guys so I have some bad news...

My g/f wont let me buy that ski, she said it is extremely ugly and she won't even ride on it with me We were planning on getting 1 jet ski for us both to ride to see if we really wanted to get a second one. But i guess the 1st one we get both of us have to like.

It' just to bad cause for the condition of the ski and amount of hours on it not to mention it was a good motor this kinda stinks.

The kicker is he said he just wants to get rid of it and he lowered the price from $1500 or b/o to $1200 or b/o

Outlaw, I like your way of thinking. I told her if she wants a newer one we could spend around 3500 or so on one she likes and ill pay half, that's gotta persuade her. Also this things not gonna last long at $1200 or b/0...

Ill talk to her again, I hate passing up deals that are this good when I have the cash to buy it right now...
