Default Superjet spark problems, Need Help

Ok so building a superjet i bought off of craigslist that was all in a box... went trough everything and rebuilt motor ect... was told all electrical parts worked when tore apart ( Like I believed that )
SO I get this thing all together hit the start button and wham It fires! runs for 20 seconds and then dies! I hit it again and again and think what happened. I pull the plugs, hit it again and no spark. Hum I ( stupid kill switch) so I unplug the starter wires and the kill switch wires and jump the starter, no spark still.
I had a spare Cdi in the tool box, i throw it on and hit the starter and it fires, runs 20 seconds and then dies, now no spark... ( and still No kill switch hooked up)
I did a test on the pulsar coil and its showing 2 volts AC, charging coil is at 30 AC and battery charging is also where it is supposed to be. The pulsar coil seems to be low on volts by tow or so....
I have tried two cdis two different coils, im kind of baffled at this point.
anyone got any idea on where i am going wrong?

Default very similar problem

I have a 95 blaster 1 701. I have had it 6 years and the best most dependable ski I ever owned till the other day. Last run about 3 weeks ago, primed it, it started for about 20 sec then died, no spark. I just got the manual today. everything ohms out to book value but I havent put a meter on the cdi, I just found that page just a few minutes ago so I'll try tomorrow. Everything is clean no corrosion, stop and kill switch check out. I'll let you know how I make out tomorrow but right now I am baffled.

Sweet< let me know what you find out and I will do the same. I am going to go backwards tonight and start at the stater plate, I have a complete second electrical system off a 99 that is curently blown up in the garage. Im going to swap stater plates and check the two cdi's to see if they are bad. I am affraid to throw mds Cdi on the 95 as i have already tried or fried two cdi's already!!!

Default update

Put a meter on my cdi, everything was within spec but when I have the neg lead on orange I am suppose to get a needle swing and back on every other wire I probe with the pos lead, the needle doesn't move. Could you do me a favor and confirm you get a needle swing w/ neg on orange before I order a new one. I found a new aftermarket for $175. One thing I am hoping doesn't happen is It runs for 20 sec then fries the cdi but I cant see anything that would do that. My boat is down now with starter, trim and alternator issues, just replaced a waterpump on my vette yesterday and my blaster is down, of all things that run right now is my seadoo xp which is notorious for crapping out. Let me know what you read when you get a chance, can't order one till tuesday, thanks, Mike.

I dont know how much help this is going to be but i tested mine and== neg on orange the white and whi-red had no continuity, the rest tested ok,, other than that everything tested within spec,,,

the back up cdi i had in the tool box tested crappppppppy and was darn near 350 to 500 all the way across the board when negative was on the orange and pos touched everything else except white ( that one was ok )

so in conclusion, I think boith cdis are bad, so i am going to pull the stator plate and check for somethig screwed up there, why would the boat fire for 20 seconds then fry both cdis...... I could see a bad cdi going bad once out of just darn bad luck, but twice exactly the same thing leads me to think something else is wrong before the cdi... dont know

Default She's fixed

I put the new cdi in it and she sings. Started and stopped a couple of times and she charges the battery too. Wish it wasn't the most expensive item to go bad but at least I did not have to pay someone. Good luck with yours, let me know how you make out.
