Default vx110 steering

I have a 2005 vx110 yamaha. I just rebuilt the engine and it has been sitting for 2 years. The steering is a little stiff. I disconnected the steering at the rear and the nozzle deflector swing free. I pulled the steering case off and can only see the bolts holding the steering wheel together. From under neath everthing looks fine. I tried to disconnect the cable from under the hatch but I wasn't able. Is there a grease fitting or something. The cable looks fine not corroded or any visible signs of corroision. Any ideas????

There is no grease fitting. Just a cable that runs through a housing. I think you can get access to the front where it enters the housing if you remove the rear compartment in the front storage area. It is usually held on with plastic rivets (you just take a small screw driver and push in the center and the rivets will pull out). I would guess the cable just needs some grease smeared on it where it enters the housing, and the ball connector where the cable attaches to the steering column needs to be greased also.
