Default Yamaha VX Air Filter?

A couple months ago had local yamaha dealer go thru my recently purchased 09 VX cruiser to check oil level/air filter, and change spark plugs. They said everything checked out just fine...I personally haven't been able to get it's speed up past 50mph on GPS with around 1/3 tank and I weigh 270 (topped out at 47)..This week I decided to check the oil level in preparation for doing winterization/oil change myself coming up and found it to be almost at the full line cold/checked it warmed up on the lake and over the Full line! So I took some oil out-now reads at L mark cold. Will check when warmed up soon. Since the oil level was high decided to check my air filter/box just in case....Hose/box were dry from what I could tell and see pics of filter....Is the one side of the filter supposed to be yellow facing the motor? I assume both sides would be the same creme color when installed so it has been contaminated with oil? Please let me know thoughts ASAP cuz I either need to order a replacement or clean this one to ride this weekend

The filter looks good to me. Oil contamination looks more dirty brown, and not evenly distrubuted.

Thanks for the quick response Ernest! Decided to order R&D performance air filter anyway because found pretty good deal online...$80 w/shipping....Figured since I'm changing the oil and not the oil filter this time around (only 30hrs on machine now) might as well upgrade the air filter/keep the OEM one for a back up...Who knows maybe I'll gain 1-2mph?!?!

The R&D filter is a good choice. It can be cleaned if it gets dirty unlike the OEM.
