Default What speed with FX cruiser training key

I am still very new to the PWC world. I understand that with the FX cruiser it comes with the ability to limit the RPM for younger riders. Can anyone tell me the max speed with one rider, speed limiter engaged, for a 2007 FX cruiser (no HO or SHO).
Thanks,
Jim

I don't think that the FX has the rpm limiter feature. Do you have a remote control with that ski? Seems like that feature is only on the FX HO/SHO, and VX Deluxe/Cruiser models.

If you do have the remote, and can limit rpms it is probably the same as the VX so I'd guess about 40 mph.

Default Thank you again

I don't actually own one yet. Ernest you helped me a few days ago in the general forum. I had asked which PWC make/model to get for tubing & skiing. You recommended I look for a 2004-2008 Yamaha FX cruiser. I was hoping that all the Yamaha's came with governor that was controlled by a key.
If I understand you correctly only the VX model comes the the ability to limit the top speed? I want to let my 14 & 16 year old drive it some but don't want to tempt my son (14) with something that goes 53mph.
Any help/insight you can provide would be great.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the rpm limiter feature is only on the skis I mentioned and not available on the FX (even the Cruiser version).

However, I think you will find that the FX is sedate enough for your kids without the rpm limiter. Its really up to the kid.........they can do just about as much damage at 40 as they can at 50 mph. I turned my 14 year old daughter loose on my FX HO (60 mph), after lots of instruction, and she did great with no limits set. My 21 year old son on the other hand, scares the crap out of me every time he rides.
