Default Can someone explain this to me?

On the rear of the GP1200R you can find these suffixes where it states the Model but what does it represent? I know on the VIN# of a car it will tell you where the car was put together but these suffixes are different. GP1200AY, GP1200AA, GP1200AZ

Your probably looking at a 2002 model ski. I think the letter codes are for the years, and they include previous model years for the compatible parts codes (aa=2002, az=2001, ay=2000).
