History This is my first ski ever, and I bought this ski for 500 knowing the hull had been repaired. Compression seemed good turning by hand with plugs out, but no fuel or battery, so I couldn't fire it (I know better now). Go it home, and proceeded to clean it up, got a battery, fresh fuel and oil, and got it fired up relatively easy (big stinking grin). Took it out, and got about 45min on it, and started acting like no fuel over half throttle (HMMM, carbs where clean). Got it home, pulled the carb, and was all gummed up. Looked in the tank, and some kind of crap was down in the bottom. I though water, but how. Drained the tank, and used a rag with a string attached to it, and a long stick to try and wipe it out, and this stuff hardened into a fiberglass resin like substance, so I started cussing the repair shop. I now now this was a combination of Seafoam and old gas. Now I run from Seafoam to use as a stabilizer. It's good for a couple of months max. It's a engine cleaner. Anyway, got that prob solved and chiseled it all out of the carb. Got it back to the lake, and it seemed to run great, but had to leave for drag races, so left it with the family down there. I get a call that it quite running. Get there next day, and the engine is toast. Get it home and tear into it, big end rod bearings came apart. Result of water in the engine, and it not being fired back up asap. All the bearings in the lower end were rusted. One case bearing was even coming apart. Ok, need to rebuild it. While cleaning the hull, the repairs that where made failed (@%^%#$&^%% !!!!). Got a replacement 97 hull. Needed paint and repairs. Got all that done, got the engine back in, and she fired right off, but had idle issue. Tried and tried to find it. O well, I'm riding it. Ran it that year a few time, and the next year like that. Finally decided to check the fuel pump pulse diaphragm. Yep, it was on of those mesh type that don't work worth a crap (hey, I was new to ski's, what do you want ? lol), luckily I still had the old oem one, and stuck it back in, problem solved, and carb is back at factory setting on low speed screw. Now just waiting to get it back out with the new flame arrestor, and jetting. No body in the family will ride it. They say it is to fast. LOL
