Hey all,

I’ve been told to do mystery oil in the 3 cylinders. Thoughts?

Going to drain all fuel and all oil from machine.

Any tips in reconditioning a wave runner sat for 10 years?

Yes, a tablespoon or so in each cyl and turn it over by hand from the coupler if it can be reached. If not it can be bumped over with starter, easily, no long cranks.

What's the year?
Yamaha uses pretty good fuel line so it should be ok. I'd replace the oil lines from the pump to carbs/throttle body and maybe tank to pump if it's hard/stiff. If it's a carb'd model I'd rebuild them. Fuel filter, obviously, unless fuel inj then it's in tank. There is also an oil filter in the tank you may want to clean as well. The oil filter also has a seal at the bottom to replace if removed.
May want to think sierously about pressure testing motor or resealing crank. The seals have probably dried and hardened. This could lead to a lean rear cyl and failure.

I'd do all the above before trying to start.
The first 5 gallons of fuel id pre mix it at 50/1 to over oil as it gets wet inside again. All the oil has settled out of the brgs.

Once you get to a point where your ready to start I'd do a compression test as well. This will give you a base line to work from if need be latter.
