Nope, it's in the way. You will have to remove the nut on the back side, and it's a pain. If you don't mind modifying the glove box, mark the key switch before you remove it, and when you get the glove box out, trim it in a L shape where the switch sits. Then you can reinstall the switch with the box out, and future box removal will be simple. Be sure to lay a bead of silicone on the hull to seal the glove box to the hull.
If you haven't done the cooling system modification, better think seriously about getting that done before you fry the emm.
