95' 750 Zxi overheating

Hello,
Just got this 750 and put a pump I got off ebay on it and it is overheating. I have blown all the water lines out and she runs perfect and cool on the hose. I do notice there is more pressure out of the pisser on the hose vs the jet pump. THOUGHTS?

THANKS!!

Check impeller clearance. Should be .007-.010. Also check that the passage on the pump is clear. You should only be using just enough water pressure to get a smal steady stream from the pisser. make sure you cooling lines are installed correctly. Has the engine been rebuilt recently ? Could be restricted water passages in the exhaust somewhere or could actually be the temp sensor is restricted some.

Hi Rod - I am thinking it's the impeller clearance. Mine is at .04 . I was going to remove the temp sensor to test but seeing the clearance issue I will start there. Can I just replace the impeller or do I need to find another pump?
Thanks for the reply! very helpful
