Question Water in engine, 2013 Kawasaki STX-15F

Hi, looking for any help/guidance on resolving my problem. The ski was put away for the winter as I always do; for it, and the 2006 STX-15f we run.

Took them both out of storage and they both ran great for the first 2 short rides. On the 3rd ride, the 2013 engine wouldn't turn over. I removed the plugs and found all cylinders full of water. Checked the oil and found water there too. I then drained the ski, added new oil and filter and ran it on a hose for 3 hours, stopping every half hour to check the oil. No water, so back to the lake.

The ski ran great, but after about 20 minutes I checked the oil and the water was back, again.

I was initially thinking about a head gasket (usually an overheating problem), but heard that there's been issues with water getting in through the exhaust.
Since this problem only occurs when the ski is in the water, I was thinking the exhaust as the cause, might be more logical.

Any suggestions on how to proceed will be greatly appreciated.

3 hours on the hose is way to much as there's no cooling on the jet pump bearings, but at least you got it fired back up. Usually 15 min is plenty to dry a engine.
Yes, from what I hear the exhaust corrodes. I would get it running again, and check the compression to be safe. If all good, pull the exhaust. Was just reading up some more, and if it's most likely the exhaust manifold. You going to have to pressure check the cooling passages. I've also heard of folks getting water in the exhaust through the exit at the stern when just sitting unused. Not sure how though, and I would imagine would have to be in fairly rough water.

Thanks, will do a compression test and if OK will remove the exhaust manifold and go that route.
