I have rebuilt a lot of two strokes, even a Kawasaki 1100, but never a fuel injected one like this. After doing the bottom end and top end, the motor cranks smooth by hand.. However after installing the magneto cover and stator, while turning the crank, there is a good amount of resistance at various points of the rotation. It feels magnetic, and is definitely the stator causing it... Because I took it back off and it turns over freely now. So is this normal for the DI engine? On a carbureted model, I never noticed any change after installing the magneto housing and stator. Thank you in advance.
