Hello All!
I just purchased a used GP800R and realized that the previous owner added a regular in line fuel filter to the system. I saw that the original filter was still in place, in line with the universal filter mounted to the top front of the machine. I have no idea what condition the original stock filter is in, but noticed a decrease in performance of the machine in the water. The stock filter definately looks different than the universal, not only with a fuel flow direction arrow, but it also had and up arrow for installation. Makes me think it is designed differently for a purpose. In the event that the stock filter is getting stopped up, is it okay to bypass it and only use a universal in line filter or go back stock?
Thanks in advance for your input!
