NOW, present day. when i went to do my annual maintenance yesterday, i opened the oil tank to change the oil and found it is EMPTY... I dont get it. there is NO oil in the bilge. There is no oil in the tank,, I know oil and gas are expensive but, this is crazy.. can anyone help??.. thanks in advance...

I don't think you have anything to worry about. The proper way to check the oil, according to my local dealer, is to let the engine run for a short period of time and then check the oil. It should then read between the high and low level mark. It is not unusual for the oil reservoir to appear empty after the water craft has been setting for any lenght of time.
Hope this helps.

You know, that's very interesting. Yesterday, I put 1 qt. of oil in it, (just in case) fired it up, opened the oil tank and stood there and actually watched it fill up.. Actually I had to suck out the qt. of oil I put in.. Shut her down, checked the oil, all is well with the world.. So, I'm not going to worry about it.. Thanks for the help..
