Same issue

Hi there,

I'm running into the same type of issue...had spark one day and the next it was gone. Not too sure what went wrong...been testing out different things but nothing has changed the problem.

I'd be interested in getting a copy of the electrical checks too if thats possible. Can it only be faxed or is e-mail possible?

Thanks for any and all help,

Alex

Thanks Peter for the fax...everything checked out and surprisingly after hooking it all back up we have spark again! Not to sure what happened or why since we didn't do anything special so maybe a loose connection?

However we still cannot get the damn thing to start. I checked the spark with one of those inline ignition testers (basically just house a small light bulb) and the light produced is very very dim. How would I verify if I have "weak spark" and is there any electrical test I can complete while the engine is cranking to verify condition of spark, voltage?

I took the intake manifold off to check reed valves which are in perfect shape so the next thing would be a clean (or maybe rebuild) of the carb. Going to check cylinder compression tonight but I'm pretty certain its fine.

I did get the engine to fire maybe 4 times in total and puff out a little smoke but nothign else which is why I was thinking "weak" spark causing poor ignition.

Anyway thanks for any and all advice!

Alex
