I have a 1994 polaris that has been acting up for a long time and no shop can seem to get it fixed. It will start and run great but after you run awhile and let it ilde, it will go dead. When you try and restart it, it just turns over but wont start. If you let it sit awhile, like 5 minutes or so, it will start and run great. Yesterday after running it for about 2 hours, it stopped again and still this morning it will not restart. It is driving me crazy. It only has 113 hours on it and has been doing this for the last 5 or 6 years. HELP???

Hey thanks for the response. Right now the polaris is at my sons house 2 hours away but I can tell you that 2 years ago I did a compression test on it and they were almost exactly the same. I dont remember the psi though. At that time I replaced the top cylinder gaskets. I own a auto service center so I have the tools to check those things but dont have the craft here right now. If you dont mind me asking, if the compression was low, wouldnt it run bad or not have much power? Thanks Chris

wouln't a vapor lock be caused by heat? If it had low compression yes performance would drop, but it is not typical to evenly lose compression on all cylinders unless something else is going on.:dunno:

Could be a vapor lock :dunno:stumped on this one

This is one of the reasons they don't make them anymore
