I have a 1995 Jetski 700 Wave Venture. It’s always run good until a couple of years ago. It idles fine but won’t rev up under load in the water. Trying to figure out if it’s a firing issue or a fuel issue. One thing I have discovered is that the ski will run faster if I turn the fuel valve halfway toward the “off” position. But, the fun doesn’t last. The jetski will eventually stop due to lack of fuel or the jetski will go back to not reving up. That makes me think the problem is fuel related. So, yesterday I took the tank out of the jetski and cleaned it thoroughly. There was a little residue that settled to the bottom but it came out with little effort. I also changed the spark plugs and cleaned the intake and screens. I put fresh fuel back in and it idles fine but still doesn’t rev up.

I’m not a mechanic but I can replace parts. Not sure what to try next other than replacing the carburetors and or change the ignition coil assembly.

Any ideas on what I need to try next?
