The hose from the manifold to the muffler (I guess) is melted and I have low compression (80 to 85 psi cold) in all three cylinders. I feel it ran hot due to a problem with the cooling system and scored the cylinders . I do not have a manual yet and wonder if someone could give some tips on troubleshooting the cooling system or if there is maybe a common problem I can check for?

If you run the ski in the water does it pump water out of the fitting on the right side of the ski near your foot? If not you need to check to see if the hose from the jet pump to the water intake fitting on the manifold is clogged, has a hole in it, or is otherwise damaged. Do you have a valve in the hose that can be closed if the ski is towed behind a boat. If you do, make sure it is open. Pull the head and see if the cylinders are scored. You will need the manual if you intend to do the work yourself. The manual will have some key information that will ensure that you rebuild it correctly Good Luck
