Hey guys, I've had my 98 gp1200 for three years now and never had an issue with it. A few rides ago, my engine started to foul up. It will crank and idle fine but as soon as you put down any throttle it stalls. I took it out of the water, drained the gas, changed the oil, changed the plugs, cleaned the intake and did a basic service on it. I have since checked the compression which reads 125 psi on the 1st and 3rd cylinders but 0 on the 2nd! You can see the piston pumping when it turns over and there are no visible cracks in the head (like it threw a rod). Any info would be great!

Same thing as you discribe happened to me last weekend. Remove top of engine to find the oil line off the carb on the number 3 cylinder.
Cylinder and piston was trashed.
We are going to replace the cylinder/piston and refresh the top of the engine over the winter.
