I have a 1998 xl1200 that when it sets over night it will start and run fine as long as you keep riding it.But when you park it for as little as 10 min and try to ride again it takes forever for it to pick of fuel, once it finaly picks up fuel it will run like a new one until you park it again.I just had the top end rebuilt and the carbs clean.I notice that the fuel filter would fill up and soon as you started to crank it it would empty it and not fill back up until you let off the starter.Do these machines have a fuel pump or is the fuel drawn in by vacuum.
Also would like to know how hot the discharge water out the side is surpose to be.Because the water coming out of mine will burn you if you touch it and that just does'nt seem right to me. Thanks for any info.
