Are you using oil injection or pre-mixing? There is no additive that I know of. I used to use synthetic when I had a two stroke. I was using oil injection and had less smoke. If you are pre-mixing there isn't much hope as you are burning twice the oil recommended and putting out unecessary pollution at an idle. The only time your ratio is correct is at WOT, the rest of the time it would be a bug fogger.
